5 out of 5 stars Bumper   April 3, 2010

This is one of my favorite baby items! It is so much safer than other bumpers and it much cheaper! I love it and would recommend it to any parent! Such an easy way to keep your baby safe and comfortable while they sleep.

3 out of 5 stars Ok Product But Could Be Better   March 16, 2010

It took me forever to try and get this installed on my standard sized crib because the long piece wasn't long enough to fit all the way across the crib due to the thick posts. Regardless of how I positioned it, one slat was not covered - which in my mind defeats the whole purpose (it could be that slat where my daughter will get her arm or leg stuck. You just never know). The manufacturer should have made the pieces and the velcro longer so you have more flexibility and better fit. Other than than, it remains to be seen if it will be a useful product since baby will not be here for another 6 weeks.

4 out of 5 stars Works as expected   February 3, 2010

This product helped so my daughter didn't get her feet and arms stuck in the crib slats. I also don't have to worry about her suffocating on the bumper, or using it to crawl out. It looks cute as well. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone. The only problem I have is very minor. I have a dropside crib and the detached bumper that is on the dropside slides down because it gets loose when I put the crib side up and down. It is easy enough to push back up though.

5 out of 5 stars works for us   February 3, 2010

I have twin girls and one of them is very active - she was always on her side with her face in the bumper or when I took the bumpers off, her feet were hanging out of the slots. So I was excited to find these breathable bumpers and they work great. The only thing was that my cribs don't have slats in the back - it is solid so it was a little more difficult to attach but we used the extra piece and connected it around back with the velcro. I would definitely recommend them.

4 out of 5 stars Better than the alternative   December 24, 2009

I was able to get my breathable bumper on the secondary market. I bought TWO nursery sets for my daughter at consignement stores. I loved the regular bumpers for them. However, I kept reading about safety and the concern over regular bumpers. Oh well.

My little one slept for over 5 months in a travel crib in my bedroom but the time came when she needed to be in her own room in her crib. I was concerned that she would bump her head on the bars of the crib so I didn't want to put her in there with nothing. I saw this at a store and thought "What a great idea!" After finding it at the consignment store, washing it and putting it in her crib I noticed a few things I wasn't too keen about.

When you 'install' it you have to pull really, really hard to make sure there is no slack in the bumper. It's tighter and seems safe but it isn't as tight as I would like it to be. Another thing is that the corners are a little exposed because this comes in two pieces. One part is for the front of the crib and the other section is for the other three sides. Every corner is still covered but I like the way other bumpers are able to cover all sections and still allow the usage of its drop side.

Overall I would suggest it. When my daughter begins to pull herself up she won't be able to use this as an aide to escape like she would a regular bumper. I feel better that if she is right up next to it with her face she won't suffocate.
